Now: Business writer and foreign correspondent for the Associated Press in London, covering technology and innovation in Europe.
From 2010-2018, I was based in Hong Kong, covering a huge range of news stories for the AP’s text service from the Chinese financial hub.
I’ve covered Hong Kong’s evolving pro-democracy movement, including the 79-day “Umbrella Movement” protests led by a new wave of young political activists fighting for greater freedom on the streets of the semi-autonomous Chinese city.
I’ve led or contributed to AP’s coverage of stories such as the hunt for Edward Snowden, a ferry disaster, Chinese auto shows, coffin and cage homes, air disasters like MH370 and TransAsia, and China’s ties with Zimbabwe.
I’m also experienced in cross-format coverage, shooting, editing and livestreaming videos for AP’s video service as well as filming 360 video for interactive projects.
